Xbox Live Deal of the Week - 18/05/09

360 News | UPDATE: Spider-man and friends take over the Marketplace.
It's Monday (or early Tuesday morning for Australians) again, which means a new Deal of the Week has started on the Xbox Live Marketplace. This week, the Marvel Ultimate Alliance game add-on Playable Hero/Villain Pack Combo Deal has been reduced to 560 Microsoft Points, a saving of 55%.

Coming in at 77 MB, the Hero/Villain pack allows you to play as four new villains and four new heroes including Dr. Doom, the Hulk, Cyclops and Magneto. You'll be required to download the free title update in order to utilise the pack, and if you own Marvel Ultimate Alliance: Gold Edition then the characters are already included in that version so you do not need to purchase the pack.

Please remember that all Deal of the Week specials are exclusive to Xbox Live Gold subscription holders.

UPDATE: We previously reported that Bionic Commando Rearmed was the Deal of the Week. Unfortunately this was a mistake on Major Nelson's blog. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

That is a pretty good deal. Here's hoping MS keep it up, make it x2 on the trot or something icon_smile.gif

And I caved in and bought it 2 weeks ago. D'oh.

When will MS get around to reading the article from Gabe Newell about how reducing prices by 75% during a sale will actually make you more money than 25% or 50%?

NO deal.

Major Nelson has retracted his statement... Bionic Commandos isn't the DotW this week. IIRC this deal will be coming in a week (read it on the official site somewhere.)

This weeks DotW is:

Ah crap.

Stupid Major Nelson, you're always making mistakes.

Sigh, I'll update the article. Thanks.

i bought that pack 2-3 weeks ago, and for that price... some deal!

(at least, i'm 99% sure it was that price, as i remember the Heroes pack was (is?) 400, as was the Villains pack, and the combined pack was an odd number: 560.)

EDIT: ok, i'm wrong about the H/V packs (but i'm still pretty sure i paid a weird amount of points for it.)
turns out the 2 packs were 500 each separately, or 800 for both.
i don't really get how 560 is 55% off of 800 though...
560 is 70% of 800 - meaning a 30% saving.
