Star Ocean: The Last Hope collector's edition announced

360 News | Now coming with artwork, soundtrack and strategy guide.
Ubisoft has announced that Australian gamers will be receiving a collector's edition of Star Ocean: The Last Hope.

Included in the collector's edition will be a hour-long music CD, titled Star Ocean Sound Best Collection. It will, as you might have guessed, feature selected music from the Star Ocean series.

In addition to the CD, there will also be a full colour 32 page mini-strategy guide, along with five character artwork cards.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope is due for a release on 4 June 2009.

Was going to pick this up but it comes out around the same time as another game I want too.... If only I could afford more time/cash for games.

Pre-ordered it last week icon_smile.gif

I don't really care about the mini-strat guide or the CD (because I already imported the full Soundtrack and Arranged CDs). But those character artwork cards are gold to me, along with the game itself icon_biggrin.gif

I'm just really excited about it.

Loved Star Ocean 3 icon_smile.gif a massive quest with plenty to do, entertaining battle system and a crazy plot twist

There's nothing in the Collectors Edition that excites me, but still, the guide might be interesting icon_smile.gif

I'll buy it icon_biggrin.gif. I bought 3 of the previous star ocean games and played only a few min of each but when I get the time to play em they'll be awesome icon_biggrin.gif

Its probably a good idea to play and finish part 4 first since the story takes place before the events of the first game (AFAIK). best to play Part 3 last because the way that game ended, it truly was THE grand finale.

Looks pretty cool. I'm rather jealous since NTSC region didn't get a collector's version.

OMG that so makes me want a 360 icon_biggrin.gif but then I remember how crap the hardware is and I'm once again deterred from buying a 360... :'(
The game does looks great though, I really think this is the best thing SquareEnix has made in a while on next/current gen home consoles to date...

pfft, sif not buy a console on its hardware, beside, I don't see ps3 being any different in gaming experience, and a person I know having his yellow light of death on the ps3 while my trusty 360 still haven't red ring on me icon_biggrin.gif

Can't wait til Friday 5th June (yeah, I won't be at Game til a Friday, sigh) when I get my hand on it icon_biggrin.gif it will be awesome!!! (I have an oral presentation on friday, but after that, I'll go straight home and play play play!!!)

lol I didn't mean the hardware was weak or anything like that, I meant that the 360 continuously breaks down and is very poorly built compared to the PS3 which has much better build quality imo... just thought I'd clear that up ;D 360 is a great console game-wise though icon_biggrin.gif

This is something that really annoys me. People who think that the 360 is still the same build quality as when it was first released. They have revised the internals of the consoles something like 3 or 4 times now to make it more reliable. The failure rate has dropped drastically, it's supposedly now a 1 digit percentage which is what you'd expect from most consoles, and you have a 3 year warranty guarding against RROD and E74 errors.

The argument of, "But the 360 fails all the time!" became redundant a fair while ago, they still fail from time to time but no longer like they used to and it's not like the PS3 doesn't have it's fair share of problems as well.

Anyway I had been planning on getting this but now I'm broke and can't afford it. Guess I'll be waiting until there's a sale on or something.

I've had my Xbox now for over 2 years, not one single problem (knocks on wood).

The last time I had to send back an Xbox 360 to Microsoft and replace it with a new system for a customer was around Winter 2007.

Bought another one back in January after my launch unit E74'd after 2 RROD replacements, had to send it in for E74 back at the end of April (returned within a fortnight and no problems since thankfully). I think it's just a matter of luck, some friends have had constant problems and others haven't even had a splutter. I certainly favour my PS3 now just out of worry for my 360.

Knock on wood all ye like but with all the hardware revisions both my 360s have died, my best friends died, my other friends died, and so did his brothers. All of them falcon or newer except my original. So, save one other friend I know with a 360 who has scarcely ever turned it on because it was a prize and he doesn't play games, every single one has broken.

On topic: As much as I want Star Ocean 4 this collectors edition doesn't look particularly worthwhile. Whats a bet that miniscule 'guide' is a collection of sample pages from the full one icon_razz.gif
