Xbox Live Deal of the Week - 24/08/09

360 News | Well I'll be damned.
It's Monday (or early Tuesday morning for Australians) again, which means a new Deal of the Week has started on the Xbox Live Marketplace. This week, Grand Theft Auto IV’s The Lost and Damned Game Add-On has been reduced to 1200 Microsoft Points, a saving of 25%.

Exclusive to Xbox 360 and coming in at 2 GB, The Lost and Damned follows the story of Johnny, a member of the notorious biker gang called The Lost. Johnny has slowly been creating several business opportunities for the gang throughout Liberty City, but after The Lost’s President, Billy Grey, is released from rehab, tensions quickly rise between the two.

Please remember that all Deal of the Week specials are exclusive to Xbox Live Gold subscription holders.

Well, I'm just glad that this deal didn't happen a couple of days after I bought this, which was a month or two ago. But this is an even better deal now, everyone with GTA4 should pick it up.

Sweet, so back to normal now yeah? Don’t get me wrong, if anything screams “DEAL!” it’s 20pts off a wallpaper, but getting back to the games themselves is a better place to be.

Yeah, there were rumours doing the rounds that it was going to be last week. For some reason it never happened, and then some Halo theme or whatever was reduced by 33% on Wednesday/Thursday. I didn't bother doing up the article then, just thought a theme was a little stupid to be discounting.

Could we start including real money conversions of the MS/Nintendo/Sony Space Bucks whenever they are mentioned in articles? I mean, cool, its 1200 Points, down from 1600 points, but I have no idea what those are in real money until I go look it up, so I don't know if its actually worth me paying for.

1600 points is $26.40
1200 points is $19.80
800 points is $13.20
400 points is $6.60
320 points is $5.28
160 points is $2.56

Sony usues actual dollar figures so sure you can work that out alone icon_wink.gif

Hope that helps

i use http://www.mspconverter.com/ to work it out, but a good idea imo.
i also like that they track the total cost of EVERYTHING on XBLM - currently it'd cost 756,478 MSP to buy everything - or around $12,000AUD.

(i can't remember what Nintendo Points are worth any more. i know in the US, it's 100 points per $1USD, but what conversion rate they've inflicted on us, i've no idea - probably 100 points per $8.70 if our history with game pricing is anything to go by. icon_wink.gif )

I think last time I bought some Nintendo points were 1.5x the US amount, so $1.50 for 100 points, but that was back when they were just 'Wii Points' and I believe they've changed now.

That link is neato, too.

Spewing, I want to save the cash on this but my xbox live ran out last week, and I don't want to renew for a while as I won't play it for months.

I tried putting in one of those 48 hour codes, but I don't see the discount appearing on the Lost and Damned. Looks like there are multiple levels of Gold icon_sad.gif

Anyone offer a suggestion other than to buy Live?
