Splinter Cell: Conviction Collector's Edition Detailed

360 News | More dolls *ahem*... statues.
Ubisoft has just sent across details of the limited collectors edition of their new Splinter Cell title, Splinter Cell Conviction which is due for release in Australia on 25 Feburary 2010.

The new collectors edition will include a number of exclusive bonuses for players, which will include:

  • Sam Fisher statue
  • An exclusive gametype called Infiltration Mode, the goal of which is to eliminate a selected number of hostiles without being detected
  • An new playable skin: Shadow Armour
  • Access to three weapons: the SC300, SR2 and MP5 before anyone else
  • A soundtrack, exclusive to the collectors edition with more than 17 tracks featured from the game
In the meantime, The Splinter Cell Conviction team invites everyone to connect to Xbox Live from 17 December 2009 for the worldwide premiere of the multiplayer modes. There is a very real possibility that we could all enjoy a pre-Christmas multiplayer beta of what undoubtedly is one of the most anticipated games of 2010.

Can anyone confirm if Infiltration Mode is a co-op mode, and if so whether it'll just be a timed exclusive?

Making a co-op mode available only to Collector's Edition owners just seems pointless to me.

This is only speculation, but it seems to me that Infiltration Mode is similar to the DLC we have seen in Batman - Arkham Asylum's Challenge Rooms.

It will probably be like most content now. The CE get's it free and those who get the standard edition will pay for it via DLC.

I am a huge fan of the Splinter Cell franchise, ignoring Pandora Tomorrow which was slapped together by some tangent team, and just didn't utilise sam's abilities the way the franchise intended. Any ways, I have been anticipating this since December 06 when i first heard a new splinter cell was given the go ahead to begin early development, it is time sam, let us find out what really happened to your daughter.
