I have a feeling that Brink will be overlooked by a lot of people when there are so many high profile, already established ip's like Bioshock 2, Reach, Crysis 2 and Deus Ex 3 on the way. It looks and sounds pretty awesome, so it would be a shame.

I'm just hoping there's some great gameplay to back it up, all looks very generic shooter to me just with a different coat of paint (much like XIII back in the day).

It's a team based combattative shooter with Mirrors Edge style manouverability. That seems pretty unique to me.

Cool, that video showed none of that, it showed Modern Warfare 2 with a cartoon style.

What did you expect on a video focused on art style?

Basically how it's suposed to work simmilar to Assassins Creed in that it's more of hold the free running button and point at were you want to go and your charecter realises the best thing to do.

It also has dynamic asymetrical missions, one team will have to defend a shipment comming in while another protects it, with mission obectives changing dynamicly on the fly based on how the mission is going.

It's also got the nifty mission wheel thing wich is basicly a "What your class should be doing" thing constantly. So if you've only been playing for a little bit it will figure out what class you are and what the best course of action for you to be is, then you get a list of like the top 4 best things for you to do and marks it on your mini map (Say if you're a healer it will mark were the people are fighting that need healing are etc)

In short, it looks like way way more then Modern warfare with a cool coat of paint.

Also awesome

heh, I didn't know about half the stuff Benza posted and I haven't even watched this video yet. My comment was based on the developer diary thing I watched a week ago, which focused on the single-player side of things and the story. It looks very interesting and I'm loving the whole post-apocalyptic thing atm (except Downstream, which was arse).

Yeah I've been following Brink since it as anounced and am pretty excited for it.

For what its worth I think it will fail. Any new IP is going to get slaughtered in the shooter market and it's not excatly a graphic powerhourse

My first thought was a slightly more realistic Team Fortress 2 look... Anyone else get that vibe? (obviously based on style alone, not gameplay look)

That said, looks really fun artistic style which I like. But for me an FPS needs a great setting and Plot style as well as art style. Borderlands really grabbed me with it's obvious RPG elements like damage coming out of enemies. If this game can really grab me, then it'll probably get my money.

Just looking at character design, and disregarding the lack of large-breasted female characters, I was thinking Timesplitters. But yeah, can definitely see a bit of TF2 there as well.
