Graphical and physics overhauls can be expected, for more elaborate table complexity and physics reactions from the balls. Also included will be both split-screen and online multiplayer, as well as robust leaderboards with Achievement tie-ins.
But one of the biggest changes is in the way the game will be released. Rather than simply release a single package, Zen Studios plan to release the core of Pinball FX 2 for free. It won't come with any tables, but players will be able purchase tables and packages to expand their pinball library to whatever suits them, with trial versions of all tables available for free. Best of all, fans who own the first Pinball FX title will be able to import their tables into Pinball FX 2, enhancing their old tables with new ball physics and Achievements.
Pinball FX 2 is set to launch on the Xbox Live Arcade as soon as 13 October.
