Ridge Racer 6 playable online for Xbox 360

360 News | Also confirmed as a launch title.
Namco has today confirmed that their upcoming racing title Ridge Racer 6 will be a launch title for the Xbox 360, and will also feature all sorts of online play. It's the first time that the franchise will be playable online, with the game utilising a worldwide player matching system. This will allow players to upload their personal records from the gamer's Time Attack mode, as well as download ghost data.

And in another 'first' for a Ridge Racer title, we'll be able to download directly from the Xbox Live service, with new content - such as cars and tracks - available via the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Whilst Namco didn't unveil any more information regarding the highly anticipated racer, it's just enough to have us looking forward even more to the day the X360 finally hits PAL regions. More as it breaks.
