E3 2006: Looking through the Haze

360 News | Free Radical returns.
Before E3 began, Ubisoft announced that it would be teaming up with renowned developer Free Radical for an original FPS project. It's now been announced that the famed TimeSplitters developer will be bringing us a next generation shooter known as Haze. The game will mix near-future combat with "stunning visuals," advanced artificial intelligence, and realistic physics.

The game is meant to take place 25 years into the future. In this future, Governments are relying on outsourcing military corporations. You take up the position of Jake Carpenter, a newbie in the Mantel army. This army is known for its particular arsenal of weapons, vehicles and bio-medical enhancements. You start in South Africa, where you're attempting to stop a rebellion, though if Free Radical's Second Sight is anything to go by, the story will grow a lot more complex from there.

The game is being built from total scratch and is set for a release on PS3, Xbox 360 and the home PC. There'll be extensive multiplayer modes in the game as well. More as we get it.
