E3 2006: Phantasy Star Universe screens

360 News | Straight from SEGA to your computer screens.
SEGA have released more images of their upcoming multiplatform, heavily delayed title Phantasy Star Universe, sequel to the Dreamcast (then Gamecube, then Xbox and apparently the PC) game Phantasy Star Online.

Once gamers are finished with the 40 hour-plus single player offline campaign, players can form a squadron of up to 6 adventurers to traverse the endless online component that the franchise is famous for. During the offline mode, players take control of 17 year old Ethan Waber (as seen in these new images) who is on a mission to rescue his sister from mysterious life forms called ‘The Seed’.

It is unclear which version these screens were plucked from, but take a look at them in the media panel anyway. Phantasy Star Universe is due out at the end of the year on the PC, PS2 and Xbox 360.

Given the time period in which this game is being released, it seems a bit lost. If they waited a bit longer, they could release it on the PS3 (instead of the PS2) in addition to the 360 and PC with true next-gen graphics.

And if they don't intend to do that, then I don't see why they couldn't also release it on Wii, maybe with motion sensitive swordplay and gun fighting. Though that would make cross-platform online gaming unbalanced, I guess.

Hmmm..
This might be it, finally a MMO I can play. Been trying to find a MMO to play (is too late for wow now, I really don't want to go though the Noob process)
