Texas Hold 'Em released on Xbox Live

360 News | Free for 48 hours only.
Texas Hold 'Em has just been released on Xbox Live Arcade and is available to download for free over the next 48 hours. After this, the game will cost 800 points, so make sure you get online in the next couple of days.

The game includes unlockable achievements as well as single player and online multiplayer modes. Those wishing to gamble with real Gamerscore points are out of luck, although the game does use a persistent bank roll system, which keeps things interesting.

If only it has a Kenny Rogers sound track.

So lets get this right....
It's free...but only in the next 2 days.
So my downloaded version will work forever because I downloaded it in those 2 days.
OR
Is it after those two days i'm gonna have to "unlock" it.
Man if it's free totally in those two days and unlocked forever...wow! awesome stuff!!
(well i'll find out soon enough)

The first one, Xcs:sIVE - you get it forever.

I think it's up to eight-player as well, so anyone here up for a PALGN get-together?

(Incidentally, how good would this be with camera functionality? You could watch your opponents for bluffing icon_cool.gif)

Awesome!! to the MAXXX!!11!!

Ta dude!

Had a couple of goes earlier and liked it heaps, people were chatting and cracking jokes...stuff that makes these types of games work.
I could imagine all the mums n dads pushing their kids off the 360 now to play this. icon_lol_old.gif

We should have a PALGN high roller club tournament icon_idea.gif
That would rock.
And everyone on here with a 360 can play!

Me and you in so far then, chap - perhaps I'll take this to the Gaming Board, though. Dave and Luke and anyone else who's downloaded it: you should get on there as well. icon_smile.gif

I'm gonna download it just because it's free. Is it some sort of card game? I just don't really play games where I can do said activity fairly easily in real life (driving, sports, cards etc).

Texas Hol'em M*** F***

Only checked out the single player, the AIs are pretty easy, but they gave me the absolute sh***s sometimes. Everyone would fold if i had an Ace/King hand, like they could see it... They also back the hell down everytime you bet high.

I wouldn't pay 800 points for it though, just like i wouldn't've paid 1200 for billiards, even if the graphics and features are better than Uno...

Wow cards. Yay..... Not! Are they in HD? icon_rolleyes.gif

Should be free forever.

I'd rather buy a deck of cards get a bunch of mates over and spend a night drinking beer and having a laugh. But then again, this is what the next generation is all about apparantly, selling incredibly simplistic games every week while offering an actual "next-gen" title once every few months.

Yay for progress.

^ Yay!

Next-Gen = Retro Relived!

I'm not interested in this Xbox Arcade crap either!

I've been pretty disappointed with most XBLA titles, but I've honestly played Geometry Wars twice as much as my 'real' games combined.

So would I but if anyone is into poker this free game will allow them to play people all around the world at any time of the day. Its a sad day when we start to complain about free stuff.

That is an awesome game along with Mutant Storm Reloaded.

I just wish they had some better games.....how about Wonderboy II: In Monster Land? Smash T.V and Street Fighter are ok....but I wish they would offer up some more story based stuff instead of the quick romps/arcadey stuff.

Any of the capcom stuff would be excellent but obviously they're restricted to capcom's own collections.

Atleast they're bringing out Symphony of the Night and Ultimate Mortal Kombat.

I would sell my favourite grandmother for a version of Wonderboy in monsterland on the 360 arcade.

And I hope that midnight resistance gets an Xbox arcade release, that'd work real well with the dual analogue sticks and triggers and rocks 2 player.

Also I love the Texas hold 'em poker.
It's all about the ballsy moves and cyber bluffing.
The cyber bluffing is actually the best part, you hear people "faking" excitement and then saying"Oh, my mics still on , whoops"...yeah right icon_wink.gif
Love winning huge hands on the cyber bluff.
I won a $2000+ pot with an Ace high because of the power of the bluff.
hehehehe icon_lol_old.gif

Heard alot of classic one liners like ,"Anybody want to buy a slightly bashed Xbox 360?"
or
People that think they have an awesome hand and go all in trying to bully the lower cashed players, bragging all the way, then get trounced by a 4 of a kind and heckled as they leave the table because they lost all their money.

Free just sweetens the deal.
Had one network crash though but i hear that is pretty rare.

They're not hard to find. Plus most of these aren't free for only two days.
