More info on Sega’s Alien games

360 News | Obsidian & Gearbox developing, first title scheduled for 2009, not 2008.
Following yesterday’s report of Sega acquiring the rights to future Alien games, more information regarding the projects has made its way through the interweb.

Gaming Target noticed that Sega’s official teaser site for the Alien projects revealed the two companies involved in the titles mentioned in yesterday’s report; the teaser site, which has since been updated, listed both Obsidian and Gearbox. It comes as no surprise to learn that Obsidian, which recently completed its work on Neverwinter Nights 2, would be working on the RPG project while Brothers in Arms developers Gearbox would be heading up the first-person shooter.

In addition, despite earlier reports from The Hollywood Reporter, Sega has revealed via press release that the first Alien title will be hitting next-generation gaming systems, with the first game to be released in 2009.
