C&C3 Xbox 360 exclusive features revealed

360 News | Will the Xbox 360 version be the superior choice?
TeamXbox has revealed some of the exclusive features for the Xbox 360 version of Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars.

The Xbox 360 version of the game will feature two exclusive multiplayer modes including capture the flag and siege. The game will also support the Xbox Live Vision camera, so you'll be able to see your opponent's face as you're playing online. A spotlight camera will also centre around you after you win; or if you win. Command and Conquer 3 will also feature 35 single player missions and should be available in a few months time.

Only if the 360 version supports the mouse, otherwise no way in hell! RTS without a mouse is really cumbersome! Even slow sims like Viva Pinata would be heaps better with a mouse. I would say imo but i'm sure everyone's in agreement.

yep, no mouse = no RTS, although it would be cute to have a bunch of tanks following your general around Pikmin style which you could pick up and throw at the enemy.

Yeah RTS is the pits on console with no mouse.

Haven't they learned after the debacle that was battle for middle earth 2?

I agree, I dont even think FPS belongs on the console RTS on a console is just plain stupid, does anyone remember Starcraft 64?

These exclusives don't really matter IMO. Capture the Flag? Sounds almost as good as Sole Survivor. Live Vision? Hearing 12 year olds swear profusely obviously isn't enough, now you get to watch them abuse you too.

Yeah, extra multiplayer modes are nice and all... but is the camera support really a selling point? Who has time to study their opponents face in an RTS? Especially one that is touted as being pretty complex with the number of units to manage and such.

I'm big on choice. I personally loved the controls on BFME2, but if you prefer mouse then you should have the option. I mostly play RTS' on my laptop with the touchpad (usually not at a table or desk) so the controller is an improvement. LOL.
I wouldn't be surprised if either Sony or MS bring out KB and mouse support this generation, and if one does it then the other will follow. My guess is that KB and mouse support will come out on the 360 after the Vista / Xbox integration hits this year.

Keyboard and Mouse addons aren't new, there was one for the PS2. Generally speaking they cost too much and have issues with games supporting them.

^ Hell, there was a mouse controller for Red Alert on the PS1! Pretty snazzy, really.

Question should be, haven't they learned since Warcraft 2 was on playstation. 'Ooh 8 extra units per control group, now i can spend even more time scrolling the map with my dpad HUZZAH!'

360 has a mouse and keybaord?

I'm talking about Microsoft actually allowing gaming support for KB and Mouse in a firmware update. The 360 already has USB ports, and you can use the keyboard for the dashboard / guide.
There is a KB / Mouse / Dual-Shock adapter in the states, but apparently it's rubbish.
The games need to have the right sensitivity for the mouse, and the digital keyboard versus analogue stick sorted. That won't happen for a 3rd party add-on, but it will happen if MS open the flood gates and give the green light to KB/M in games.
