New Project Gotham Racing 4 shots making a splash

360 News | When it rains, it pours.
A dozen new shots of Project Gotham Racing 4 just landed in our laps, all looking absolutely luscious. The new batch of high-def screens shows off some of the moody environmental effects being employed in the Xbox 360 racer and - although we're not usually the kind of site that carps on about such graphical niceties as rain effects - there's no denying that the game's dynamic weather system is looking gorgeous.

There's not much more to say, except to urge you to hit the Media Panel for a closer look.

Looking brilliant graphically. I love the drop running down the window in shot 12 in particular. The idea of dynamic weather in the races sounds good too, just as long as it isn't unreasonable, eg. Sunny on one lap, then it clouds over and starts raining when you get to the next.

Real world weather much like that in MS Flight Simulator could be implemented also I imagine. I just hope Sydney makes a return icon_sad.gif

Those screenshots look amazing. Definately looking forward to this game.

That's totally reasonable if there's a Melbourne track in there icon_razz.gif

Holy mother of Jesus - that's the best looking game ever. And out of ALL games not just racing.

Well there will be 4 NEW locations out of a total of 10 - with Shanghai being one of the new ones. In the past Bizarre have always looked at the major markets where their games sell - thats why there was a Sydney track, asian tracks and a few euro ones.

My guess for the other locations are that there will be an Australian location, a South American, or Central American location and another European track.

Even though the graphics on PGR3 were great, the backgrounds look very similar to it. The added rain effect looks cool, and the car polygons seem bumped up. As long as they dont cut the in car view, I'll probably get it.

I can't remember where I read/heard it, but apparently they have already made improvements to the in-car camera view and are continuing to do so while the game is in development.

As for those shots, holy crap that is looking hot! icon_drool.gif It's nice to see information, screens and a video starting to come out for this game because as soon as Forza 2 releases, this will then become Microsoft's next big racing game. I personally can't wait for it, but then that's a given isn't it? icon_wink.gif

Oh and St. Petersburg is going to be a location in the game by the looks of things, since that's the city that the video shows.
