The Darkness hits Xbox Live

360 News | Be at one with the Dark.
Released in June, The Darkness is a game set in the underworld of New York City. Jackie Estacado, a mafia underling, gets infused with "The Darkness", an ancient power that manifests on his 21st birthday. Based on the comic of the same name and created by the same developer who did The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay, it's quite a decent first-person perspective action game. PALGN has previously had a bit of a play with it and found it not too shabby.

If you've been thinking about taking the plunge, wait no longer - a demo of The Darkness is now apparently available on Xbox Live. We say apparently because as of the time of writing, the advertising was showing up and the launch had been announced, but no demo had appeared yet. Assuming it appears sometime today, the demo features three levels, covering the Tunnel, the Cemetery, and Grinders Lane, and clocking in at 1.27GB, it's not a small download, so you'd better get cracking if you want to play it today.

Ah sweet been looking forward to this. For such a short game it has to be pretty awesome for me to fork out 100 bucks. So this is going to be a great way to decide whether to get it or not.

Sweet! I was hoping this would come out soon... I downloaded the PS3 demo just the other day, and now I can do a real side by side comparison.
Still, after playing the PS3 demo, I've decided against getting this game just yet. The game's too short, the AI is awful and it's too easy. Maybe when it's a classic or something.
