Tony Hawk's Proving Ground demo available now

360 News | A little later than expected.
A few days ago we lied to you when we told you that the demo for Tony Hawk's Proving Ground would be available in less than 24 hours. We apologise and promise it wasn't on purpose. Activision has confirmed today that the demo for Tony Hawk's Proving Ground has finally gone live and is now available on the Xbox Live marketplace.

The demo takes skaters to Philadelphia, which is one of the three cities in Proving Ground and you'll get a chance to take on Career Athletes and hardcore skaters. You'll get a chance to test out the new "nail the grab" option, as well as the video editor.

Hi Luke
This was available on LIVE at 11.45 last night - is a good demo but Skate is still better of the two with better controls

I have the opposite opinion Re. controls Shiraj icon_wink.gif

I found Skate's controls to be too difficult, and only got somewhat used to them by the end of the demo. The THPG demo showed that the series had undergone some change in this instalment with quite a different point of view for the camera, and a new style of gameplay.

I'll be buying both this and Skate, though THPG will be the one I will play for fun and achievements, while Skate will just be for chilling out and hoping to get better at!

The THPG demo includes only a small section of the Philadelphia level, and there's a lot of videos around the place showing off new things you can do in the full version. Theres a few challenges, and they present themselves in a format of three different skating styles, the kind that builds things with a dynamic editor to nail the perfect trick, the hardcore skater who are in it not for the fame or money, and the pro style, where you compete in tournaments against other skaters. As you complete these challenges, you'll start to fall into one of the styles.

I quite enjoyed the demo and gave it 2 play-throughs, and I look forward to the release.

Hmm i think Skates defiantly got the upper hand, the controls are difficult because everyone has become accustomed to TH's many skate games. Skate feels the closest to actually being involved in a sports game yet. Still ill probably buy both. icon_biggrin.gif
