Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights Australian content

360 Feature | We look at some of the Australian content included in Hot Import Nights.
We've all played those racing games that are set in either fictional cities or places like San Francisco, Los Angeles and the brimming lights of Tokyo. Ever since Project Gotham Racing 2 introduced circuits set in Sydney, we've been hoping that another game would feature some decent Australian integration. Well, thankfully somebody at Juice Games was listening and Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights features some incredible Australian integration. We were so impressed with the integration we thought we'd take a close look at how much of Australia has made it into the game.

The first taste of Australia that gamers will get is when they come to customising their car. The game allows you to customise your number plate and amongst the number plate country choices is Australia. This means the car you've customised can feature a New South Wales numberplate. The Sydney representation doesn't stop there, with a drift track named the Phantom taking place in Sydney. The track is set in a fictional realisation of Sydney, so you'll be drifting right around the Opera House and if you take your eyes off the road for a few seconds you'll even get a glimpse of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

There it is, beautiful.

Hot Import Nights utilises a driver DNA system, where every move you make in the game is tracked to make up your player's DNA. The driver DNA for Australian drift champion Beau Yates has been loaded into the game, which means players can download Beau's DNA and then race a digital version of him offline. We'd probably suggest getting some drifting practice in before this though, as we imagine drifting against Beau Yates won't be a walk in the park. The game also features some Australian vehicles, which should get petrolheads nice and excited, such as the Ford Falcon XR8.

The Australian content in Hot Import Nights is unprecedents. With Australian number plates, as well as a Sydney based track, Aussie vehicles and the ability to download the drive DNA for Australian drift champion Beau Yates, we're pleased Australia gets such a large representation in Juiced 2. So if you've ever been stuck in traffic in Sydney and just wondered what it would feel like to go drifting around the Opera House then Hot Import Nights has the answer, just make sure it stays in game and not in rush hour traffic.

Sounds like just one track in Sydney then?

I thought it would be like PGR2 where there were multiple tracks in Sydney?

PGR2 was one awesome game.

Just the Phantom.

Oh well I would prefer the real track like in PGR2 but this looks pretty awesome itself, I might end up getting this game. Got to try out the demo first, the track isn't included in the demo is it?

Yes the Monaro is also in there also and at least for the 360 version if you buy the collectors edition you get a hotted up Monaro as a bonus car.
