XBLA to receive Puzzle Quest this week

360 News | Win epic battles... with puzzles!
D3 Publisher has sent out a press release, announcing that Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords will be available for download on the Xbox Live Arcade this coming Wednesday, as long as 'all goes well'. No price has been announced yet, but rumors have it pegged at 1200 Microsoft points, which would make it the most expensive XBLA game to date.

Previously released on the Nintendo DS and PSP with great success, the game merges puzzle and RPG elements, where experience is gained from winning puzzle battles. The XBLA game will be a port of the PSP version, so check it out on Wednesday October 10 for official pricing.

Close to my favourite game of the year (I have it on DS)- so definitely, definitely get this if you have a 360.

The week I buy the DS game the 360 version is set for release.. Oh well I spose I'll buy the 360 version after I finish the DS copy. BTW the game is great, I'm really enjoying both the puzzle gameplay and the RPG story. The images for the characters and environments are really well done also.

Finally! I've been holding off buying the other versions waiting for this one. A definite buy for me, should look nice in HD icon_smile.gif

Oh crap.

I've just started playing it on DS again, I'm not sure if I'll be able to resist buying it on XBLA too. I don't need another time-sink, damnit! icon_sad.gif

1200?!

I suppose I can't really complain, I'm out of points so I'm gonna have to buy a card anyway.

iirc, wasn't Lumines Live 1200?

This is an Aussie game... so if you are considering whether to buy it or not, just buy it. The local industry needs support. icon_smile.gif

While I do already have it on PSP and DS.. getting it on the XBLA is tempting as well, although 1200 points is a touch off-putting, I thought it would have been 800..

I'll grab the trial and see if there are any major improvements. One of the great things about the original was that I had it on the go, so instantly the XBLA version loses some of its appeal to me.

Ive been a staunch supporter of Steve Fawkner and Infinite Interactive since playing Warlords Battlecry II all those years ago and falling in love with it. Puzzle Quest is based on the land of Etheria which is the setting in the Warlords and Warlords Battlecry series, but the only thing that stopped me from getting it on PSP or DS was the errors i've read about. I don't have a 360 so will definately be getting the PC version which is coming out on the 222nd of October.

For all Xbox Live owners, this is a must have title. I can't stress it enough. For RTS fans, check out Warlords Battlecry II or Warlords Battlecry III - they are brilliant pieces of work.

Does any version have a "preview" of the next row (or two) that are going to drop from the top? Something like the "next piece" box in tetris. The extreme combos the AI seems to get from unseen drops from the top frustrates, making it less strategy and more luck in same cases......

Post over at the boards at Infinite Interactive and the game's creators will tell you first hand themselves emech. They are always intouch with the community and are very approachable with any questions you may have. Part of their appeal in my book..

Speaking of the II boards, I just read there that the PC and XBLA versions (and, I assume, any other releases down the track) have had some large balance issues addressed. Also a handful of new items were added into the mix.

Or so I read.

Either way, thats all the incentive I needed to buy it again.
