Project Gotham Racing 4 demo up for download

360 News | With cars and bikes!
Major Nelson has reported that a demo of the next entry into Microsoft's favourite arcade racing series, Project Gotham Racing 4, is now available for download on the Xbox Live Marketplace for a hefty 1.27GB.

The most interesting addition to the series is the ability to race bikes as well as cars, and the demo allows you to do just that. Choose out of 3 cars and 2 bikes and race through Nürburgring in an exclusive 'Snow Challenge' and also speed down the streets of Macau in some unique PGR 4 arcade events.

The demo will surely give gamers a good taste of what to expect from the full version of the game, which is scheduled for release this week. Look out for a review of Project Gotham Racing 4 later this week on PALGN.

It's getting annoying with the demos coming out when the games have already been released, why cant they release them before the games come out

I know that sometimes i get a lot out of the demo, and don't need to buy the full game because there's always stuff coming out and other games to buy. Crackdown for one was a huge demo. Stranglehold another.

Anyway I got PGR4 last night and as a PGR fan, PGR4 is wicked and the bikes bring life into the series. I was sceptical on the inclusion of the bikes but now Im really enjoying something different. The career mode as everyone has read is different now, a calendar of events, but not only that, they've expanded on the events, some tournaments are majors which makes you qualify for the event and you have to come in the top 24 out of 32 racers for example to move onto the next phase. The calendar event mode plus AI 'characters' was always something i wanted to see in racers and finally its here. I can't give a complete verdict on it just yet but so far so good. You can still race for medals in arcade mode but Ive never liked that mode.

Bulldog mode in multiplayer was a bit disappointing but maybe that was because the five American guys I was playing with were stuffing around and trying to unlock something. Racing was also fun in multiplayer and I had no lag.

The new cities were fantastic and alot more interesting than PGR3. I think Macau is the pick of the lot so far, you can do a run up the hill and see the city below before hurtling down through the city itself.

Any questions - fire away! I'll put more hours in tonight and see how we go. The Asian DVDCrave copy is only $65.

A bit off topic I know, but the Americans got a demo of FEAR Files (the two FEAR expansion packs bundled for 360) at the same time as their PGR4 demo.

I loved FEAR, hence, ME WANTEE

*ahem*

It'll probably turn up before too long I s'pose.
