Sega Superstars Tennis announced

Sega has confirmed via a press release that they are bringing Sega Superstars Tennis to the PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and Nintendo DS. The game will put familiar Sega stars on the tennis court.

Sega Superstars Tennis has over 15 playable Sega characters including Sonic from Sonic the Hedgehog, AiAi of Super Monkeyball fame, Ulala from Space Channel 5 and Amigo of Samba De Amigo. Each character will be able to bring their own skills to the tennis court and there will be lots of different modes in the game including exhibition and tournament modes.

"Sega Superstars Tennis has the potential to be one of the most fun and accessible sports games ever," commented Gary Knight, Sega European Marketing Director. "The fantastic Sumo Digital team has had access to a wealth of Sega IP and you'll be surprised at the gaming icons that will be making an appearance!"

So its the same premise as 'Mario Power Tennis' minus the Nintendo locals...

I loved Mario Tennis (on 64) and the sequel on Gamecube, here's hoping this is just as fun
