First FIFA Street 3 details announced

360 News | Street soccer returns in early 2008.
EA officially announced FIFA Street 3 a few months ago but today they've provided the first details for the EA Canada developed game. FIFA Street 3 will be the first version of the game to hit the new generation of consoles, and see 250 players representing 18 countries compete in real world locations for street soccer glory. Each player has been rendered into a stylised charicature with "heroic" qualities, and will have a individualised style of play and unique abilities. New to FIFA Street are the Gamebreaker moves, which we previously saw in NBA Street. The game also happens to use the same graphics engine as NBA Street: Homecourt, so it's bound to look lovely.

"We have completely re-invented the FIFA Street franchise by turning the game’s biggest stars into action heroes using art direction that makes you look twice," said Joe Nickolls, producer on the project. "The power of the Next Generation hardware gives us the horsepower to break new ground for consumers, making it the perfect stage to enjoy a multi-player, sports action arcade experience. Casual gamers and sports fans can expect a simplified control system that makes it easier to perform spectacular moves and enjoy the game with friends, yet still be a challenging experience for more seasoned gamers."

FIFA Street 3 will be available on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 early in 2008. For the first screens of the game, have a gander at the media panel.

Thinking back, didn't Fifa Street 2 have a gamebreaker system too? Where stringing together a number of passes after filling the breaker bar would enable a ridiculously high powered, unblockable shot that would net you a handful of goals.

I've been getting into futsal lately, we started up a team now that outdoor season is over. Really loving the 'street' game, but I was a tad disappointed in how quickly Fifa Street 2 got boring. I hope they can do something to alleviate this in FS3, because there's alot of promise to a game that allows you to pull off ridiculously awesome football moves that you could only dream of doing yourself icon_razz.gif

Yes. I loved the new iteration of NBA Street on the PS3. This will be a quality title, the graphics on Homecourt are amazing.
