In Tournament Mode, players can select either the King of the Ring tournament, which WWE fans will know is a single-elimination tournament where the winner gets the crown and title of 'King'. If you can outlast the 15 other superstars in this game mode, you will get a coronation ceremony and have the choice of which Diva you would like as your Queen.
Also in this mode is the Beat the Clock Sprint tournament, something that has been used numerous times on WWE programming over the past couple of years especially. The object of Beat the Clock is to beat your opponent as fast as you possibly can, with the winner of the tournament being the person who defeats their opposing superstar the quickest.
Then there is the Hall of Fame mode, which allows players to literally wrestle some of the biggest events in the history of WWE, moving along a chronological timeline and rising from a Jobber to a Main Eventer by completing each unique challenge, whether it be Undertaker beating Mick Foley in their classic Hell in a Cell match or competing in the first ever TLC match with the Hardys a couple of years later.
The new game modes definitely beef up WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 even more, and should give WWE fans a pretty big package to wrestle their way through when the game is released early November.
