More DLC for Naruto: Rise of the Ninja confirmed

360 News | Fancy some Japanese voices?
Ubisoft has announced this morning that they will be providing a Japanese dub for download for their recently released ninja adventure Naruto: Rise of a Ninja for the Xbox 360. The extra voice work will be available free of charge for those that prefer the original Japanese actors.

Naruto: Rise of a Ninja follows the exploits of the young ninja through the first 80 episodes of the series. Sparing any last minute delays, the game should be available on store shelves today, so expect a full review from PALGN in the next few days.

That is actually a very decent thing to do, given how god-awful most English dubs are and that (seemingly) most anime fans prefer the original voice work.

I wonder how big the download will be?

haha i can't wait to get this game. Should be within this hour. Thank goodness they have given this option. The english dub is terrible tbh icon_smile.gif happy days.

Very nice indeed, a big relief for a lot of Naruto fans for sure. Looks like you can keep the sound on now. icon_smile.gif So envious of 360 owners right now..I hope all your consoles break! icon_razz.gif Not really.

Remember to wipe your hands before you play the game from your expected "excited" state once you pick the game up icon_wink.gif

I guess they couldn't fit it on the disc. This is a great way to work around the limitations of the media.

I know this is probably a stupid question and everything, but is this DLC already available for Australia? I assume it is, but we've been screwed before.

the worst thing they did was make up "beleive it" imo. I won't get to play this game until tomorrow because we are packed up to move icon_sad.gif

yeah i haven't seen much of it, but he does seem to say that a hell of a lot.
funny to start off with, would get highly annoying.

I read that the dub would be for the fighting segments only, not the adventure portion, although I'd be willing to be proven wrong on this. I can't stand American dubs...

I'm surprised to admit that I'm actually looking forward to playing this game. I've got zero interest or knowledge of the anime but the game is looking mighty sexy. Ubisoft have done an amazing job with the license.

Now if they did this for Bleach? <_<

Ever hear goku's voice in the japanese version of dragonball z, there is no way i could watch 300 episodes of that. Sounds more like a grannie in peril than an all conquering death lord.

But the american did also sound like a twat.....

You and me both.

I'm thinking this download is merely a "key" of a few bytes and that the audio's already in there. At least it's free though, but I still wonder why they didn't just include it on the disc like the last DBZ game. This is good though because the dub was one of the things that turned me off of watching it on TV.

Is Naruto region-free? I'm expecting so since its a Ubisoft game...but Play-Asia haven't updated their region free checklist yet.

Either way i'll still wait till next year before getting it, too many other games coming up (3 for me next week!).

If watching two characters stare at each other for 15 minutes straight while either a)breathing heavily or b)chuckling menacingly gets you going, then hey, more power to you. Really.

I just don't think that actually constitutes entertainment.

They actually didn't make up "believe it" as such, the fact that in the Japanese version Naruto often ends his sentences with "dattebayo" is the reason for this since Viz replaced this with "Believe it!" to mirror the effect, as well as to match the character's lip movements.

Check wikipedia if you like, I memorised the above stuff. icon_smile.gif

^ What I was about to say. "Believe it!" serves the same purpose as the original Japanese...

Don't recall saying that actually.

But if making puerile comments on forums about how we should all follow in your, obviously, eminent magnificence, then bully for you as well.

I thought it pretty much constituted being a tool for the sake of it

Yeah, I suppose you're right although of the two times I caught episodes of DBZ, both experiences resulted in what I described. It's was surreal. I simply could not wrap my head around how people could glean any kind of gratification from what I was subjected to. I've got friends my age who love the show. 20 something year olds! Watching that sh!t! WHY?! It's genuinely disturbing.

Anyway, enough of my DBZ love. Naruto! It isn't sh!t, apparently.

EDIT: Looks like I hit a nerve. My advice to you; don't take everything you read on an internet forum seriously, especially if it's coming from me.
