Want to race Mark Skaife around Mount Panorama?

Xbox News | Now's your chance.
Want to race Mark Skaife around Bathurst? Dice with him, bumper to bumper, down Conrod Straight? On the 16th of August, gamers will have that opportunity. Sort of.

The green flag drops at 4:00 p.m. that afternoon, when Mark Skaife will log on and challenge Live users in V8 Supercar Race Driver 2. For an hour, everyday punters will be asked to prove their driving mettle against Skaife, owner and driver for the Holden Racing Team.

While racing, you’ll be able to quiz him on the V8 season, gather the latest HRT gossip or just psych him out, thanks to Xbox Live’s to the microphone attachment.

For more information and to register, visit ‘News and Events’ on xbox.com.au, click on the Game with Fame link, then follow the instructions listed. When he logs in on 16th August between 4.00 pm and 5.00 pm, Mark himself will then invite you into his personal race. It’s all made easy with Xbox Live.

That's a cool thing from MS and Xbox Live. I'd love it if some Ford supporters beat and gave Skaife sh**. icon_razz.gif

Good to see Microsoft's sponsership with HRT is getting put to good use. He is crap in real life and he will be crap in this competition. Heck even his son can flog him at V8's 2. icon_wink.gif

Hopefully more drivers will do the same thing.

i work at Rally Australia when it rolls around and (when he had a drive) McRae used to have a PSX/PS2 with his game set up... he was actually pretty good... used to play it a bit if he had time in service... though last year his wife was with him and i don't remember seeing the game... but the infrastructure was more solid so maybe it was setup out of sight...

he was good, but i'm pretty sure any gamer could beat him since in theory he wouldn't have as much time to play and practice the games every drive line and stuff...

same thing for Skaife... if he beats anyone i'm sure they're not a particularly dedicated gamer...
