Halo 2 expansion pack

Xbox News | A listing on EBgames.com tells all.
While there has been much speculation over the Halo 2 expansion ever since it appeared as "coming soon" on the official Korean Xbox site, it seems now it will become a reality. Earlier Ebgames.com had the Halo 2 expansion pack listed, quoting it included nine all-new multiplayer maps, a new cinematic video and a new mini-documentary video from Bungie Studios. Unfortunately they have recently removed the expansion pack from their listing, - no doubt to wait for the official announcment by bungie later this week.

As you can see the main reason for any Halo 2 fanatic to pick up this pack (which is looking around AU$ 40-50) would be for the brand new spanking multiplayer maps, which has been rumoured to contain some classics from the original Halo. Also rumoured is that Bungie will be releasing two of these new maps every month for free for those with Xbox Live access and are willing to wait for new content.

It looks like Microsoft are in a win/win situation. Those who want new content will buy the expansion pack, and those who want it for free will sign up to Xbox Live. PALGN will have more information once the official announcement is made.

Only a few more Multiplayer maps? Man Bungie are getting really cheap - they use to be a respectfull company in my eyes.

I would rather buy a game, instead of a few maps icon_confused.gif

Oh well, with this and the "halo 2.5 or 3 on XB2 in november" rumours, looks like they may running Halo into the ground, in the same way Sonic and Tomb Raider were in the generations before it.

The only good thing they could do IMO is to somehow get Halo 1 online. Better Maps, better weapon balance and even better split screen framerates. Yes, the improved sequel to Halo 2 is......Halo 1!

You are truly ignorant if you think that.

Smart Idea! This now allows those who dont have access to Live the opportunity to get their hands on the maps!

I myself cannot wait and will probably dish out the extra $40 to have them ASAP. (Cant be stuffed waiting on LIVE)

Money hungry bastards.

Halo 3 won't have the same reception that Halo 2 did with the way Bungie/Microsoft are treating the name. $40-50 for a few maps? That has to go down as the most expensive live content by a bloody long way. This stuff should be free no matter how you look at it, no paying just to get it early.

I'm not paying a thing until matchmaking is fixed. Being forced to play Americans on American servers isn't fair, end of story.

Maybe the expansion pack will actually include an ending for the single player mode ...

There's a big difference between 5 tracks and 53 tracks. Oh and there is over quadruple the amount of cars too. Go for the real version... icon_razz.gif
