Half Life 2 reconfirmed for the Xbox

Xbox News | Contrary to what we just said earlier.
Earlier today we ran a story that Half Life 2 had been cancelled on the Xbox, due to the comments of one David Hufford in the Puget Sound Journal.

However, Valve Software's Doug Lombardi has been quoted this morning as saying that "Half-Life 2 is planned for the PC and Xbox. We've announced the shipping date for the PC version, and we'll announce a shipping date for the Xbox version later in the year."

Vivendi PR Manager Amy Farris has also confirmed that Valve's intentions have not changed in the month since they announced that Half Life 2 would be released for the Xbox.

The PALGN story posted by myself was based on an on the record quote made in a business journey by David Hufford, product manager in the Xbox divison of Microsoft.

This is what he said: "As of now, Half-Life 2 is not going to be on the Xbox," he said. "Valve is sending us mixed messages on that."

I reported it as such and noted that things could change and it's very likely that they could change again, you just do not know with Vivendi, in particular.
