According to the filing "The premise for the Psi-Ops screenplay is government soldiers with paranormal abilities, or 'Psi-Agents,' that fight terrorists that also have paranormal abilities." It then describes the characters and plot elements from the game in a similar manner.
Crawford claims that Midway got wind of his screenplay when he was shopping it around between 2000 and 2003, even at one stage appearing at the Electronics Entertainment Expo in 2001. The copyright for Crawford's screenplay was issued on March 26, 1998, while Midway's copyright was issued June 9, 2004. It should also be noted that the videogame Psi-Ops was originally known as ESPionage when it was first revealed.
Crawford is seeking a portion of the revenue from Psi-Ops The Mindgate Conspiracy, believed to be in the order of $US1.5 Million. Unfortunately for Mr Crawford, Psi-Ops was not exactly a smashing success - despite being a favourite of some of the PALGN staff, the game failed to make an impact on sales charts.
