Two new Halo 2 maps announced

Xbox News | For a price.
Bungie and Microsoft have mentioned in the past that they would continue to release maps for Halo 2, arguably one of the most heavily played games on Xbox Live. Today, the studio and publisher sent out word that two new maps would be available on Xbox Live on April 17 for the sum of US$4.

The maps are recreations of multiplayer maps from the original Halo, created by Bungie and Creative Affinity. "Hang 'Em High" returns as "Tombstone", while "Derelict" is now called "Desolation".

No details regarding the availability of these downloads for PAL gamers have been mentioned at this point, but they can't be more than a couple of days away.

Ah that sucks, when they announced that they were going to release more maps for Halo 2 I thought they were going to give them away for free as a promotion for Halo 3. I wouldnt pay for them considering Halo 3 is so close to coming out.

I'm with Groovy actually. As much as new maps for the game would be nice, Halo 3 is close enough that I can wait for that until I get some Halo multiplayer love again.

If these maps were free I might consider them, but since they're not I am happy to wait.
